Celebrating 50 years of viticultural innovation

Pioneers

Sagemoor’s parent company, Allan Bros. Inc. is a multi-generational family owned and operated company with a rich history in agriculture beginning in the 1930’s in the Yakima Valley. In 2014, Allan Brothers purchased Sagemoor Vineyards from its original founders who began planting vineyards in 1972. For fifty years, Sagemoor Vineyards has provided premium wine grapes from our iconic vineyards to dozens of the most renowned wineries and winemakers in Washington.

Our vineyards

Sagemoor’s properties include over 1,300 acres of planted vineyards, comprised of six separate vineyards: Bacchus, Dionysus, Gamache and Sagemoor are located in the White Bluffs AVA along the Columbia River near Pasco, WA. Weinbau is located  in the Wahluke Slope AVA near Mattawa, WA and Southwind near Milton-Freewater, OR in the Walla Walla Valley AVA.

Sustainability

Since 1972 our commitment has been and continues to be respect for the land and those caring for it. Our vineyards have thrived through the wind, snow and harsh temperatures of Eastern Washington. Minimal intervention is our philosophy for farming practices, ensuring positive impact to the ecosystem, our employees and our community in every step we take while tending the vines. Sagemoor vineyards are certified sustainable through SustainableWA or LIVE Certified.

  • Bacchus is one of six vineyards managed by Sagemoor. Located on the east side of the White Bluffs AVA and 15 miles north of Tri-Cities, WA, and has 180 acres planted to wine grapes. Next door to our Dionysus Vineyard, they share a commanding view to the west overlooking the mighty Columbia River and the Rattlesnake Mountains.

  • Sagemoor has 10 acres of 1972 Cabernet plantings, a great source for “old vine” Washington Cab. Sagemoor grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Barbera, Malbec, Sangiovese, and Grenache for reds. Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Roussane, and Chardonnay for white.

  • Dionysus Vineyard is one of six vineyards managed by Sagemoor. Located on the east side of the Columbia River and 15 miles north of the Tri-Cities, WA, Dionysus resides in the White Bluffs AVA and has 150 acres of wine grapes. It is next door to our Bacchus Vineyard.

  • In 1981 Weinbau was planted to Riesling, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer. It still has some original Riesling and Chard vines from that 1981 planting, but now also grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Mourvedre, Merlot, Carmenere, Grenache, and Cabernet Franc. Incidentally, Weinbau has one of the largest Cab Franc crops in Washington.

  • Gamache sits above the white bluffs overlooking Basin City to the east with 180 acres of wine grapes. The highest elevation is 960 feet with a gentle, mile-long southwestern slope ending at 840 feet. Bordering the east side of the vineyard is a 300-foot drop to the valley floor, towards Basin City.

  • Southwind Vineyard was acquired in 2021, marking Sagemoor’s entry into Walla Walla Valley. Located just west of Milton-Freewater, on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla Valley, Southwind Vineyard includes over 300 acres, with 70 acres of developed acreage. Several of the Northwest’s top wineries have featured the vineyard in premium wines, including Dusted Valley, Domaine Serene and Devison.

Our vineyard team

At the heart of our vineyards is a team of incredible people whose innovation and passion for the land honors the legacy and history of the vines.

  • Miles is the CEO and a principal of Sagemoor’s parent company, Allan Bros. Inc., a 100-year-old grower, packer and shipper of apples and cherries based in Naches, WA. • As General Manager, Danny oversees operations of the vineyards and wine program and drives the execution of Sagemoor’s strategic vision. For Sagemoor Vineyards, this includes a deeper integration into the business plans of its winery customers, helping wineries achieve their long-term goals and objectives with Sagemoor grapes. For Sagemoor Estates, this includes the business development of its custom wine, private label programs, and sale of Sagemoor wines. Danny has an extensive background in the wine industry with a 24-year history with Tamarack Cellars, a long-time customer of Sagemoor Vineyards prior to their acquisition by Vintage Wine Estates. Danny grew up on his family’s farm in Willamette Valley and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in General Agriculture and a minor in Soil Science.

This includes vineyard management, pest and disease control, and harvest logistics with a continued focus on innovation, mechanization, and data-driven management. Beyond her impressive professional experience, Brittany completed her Master of Science with an emphasis in viticulture from Washington State University in 2014. She has contributed to the Washington wine industry through co-authorship of an online guide for the WSU Extension on vineyard yield estimation, and her thesis work was published in the prestigious American Journal of Enology and Viticulture.

  • Lacey is responsible for managing grape sales and working hand-in-hand with wine grape customers to supply the best fruit that compliments their wine style. As a 2020 Wine Enthusiast 40-Under-40 designee, this role is a natural fit given her extensive relationships with winery customers and her history leading vineyard operations with Sagemoor Vineyards since 2015. Lacey graduated from WSU with a degree in agriculture food systems and has become a leader within the Washington wine industry, including serving on the Washington Grape Society Board and the Washington Wine Research Council.

  • Miguel began working for Sagemoor Vineyards in 1979 and in 1986, he moved to Weinbau to live and manage the vineyard. Under his faithful leadership, Weinbau Vineyard expanded from 260 to 460 acres and is highly-sought after by key winemakers across the state. In 2005, Miguel was recognized by the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers as their Grower of the Year. Miguel was selected as the 2023 Honorary Grower by the Auction of Washington Wines. In recognition of his tremendous contribution to Sagemoor Vineyards, our red blend Miguel the Man was named in his honor.

  • Victor Perez Jr. has a background in vineyard management, working in many roles during his time with Sagemoor Vineyards. Victor has worked at Bacchus and Dionysus Vineyards for 15 years and takes pride in the quality of fruit produced year after year.

  • Andres started working with Sagemoor Vineyards in 2017, building on his background in the wine and viticulture industry since 2001. As someone who manages growing practices in orchards as well as vineyards, Andres’ deep understanding of the land lends strength to the team. In 2012, Andres graduated with an associate’s degree in Vineyard Technology. When not growing grapes, he’s fishing, hiking, or spending time with his familia.

  • Starting in 2002, Kent oversaw all operations related to Sagemoor Vineyards, and since then has guided Sagemoor Vineyards to be the premier vineyard partner to over 100 wineries helping them to grow their business through quality grapes provided with a high level of customer service. Since 2014 Kent’s responsibilities have focused on the development of estate Sagemoor wines, now serving as the Director of Wine Sales of Sagemoor Estates.
